Mothage catch-up!

Recent nights have been on the quiet side for moths due to the ever present wind and rain! However, last nights haul was certainly respectable! Here are the totals from my traps this morning:

Common Swift 1
Marbled Minor 1
Bright line Brown eye 2
Buff Ermine 5
Ingrailed Clay 6
Large Yellow Underwing 1
Clouded-bordered Brindle 2
Brimstone Moth 2
Poplar Hawkmoth 1
Silver Ground Carpet 3
Common Wave 1
Hebrew Character 1
Heart and Dart 2
May Highflyer 1
Garden Carpet 1

Out of these fifteen species, Common Wave was the only new addition to my garden list! As always it was a pleasant surprise to see a Poplar Hawkmoth; even though today’s was my eighth of the season!

I never tire of seeing the gorgeous Common Swift!

Clouded-Bordered Brindle is quite a variable moth; though I hope I am starting to get to grips with them now. There is something quite enigmatic about them!

Some times beauty is subtle; there is no doubt that the Bright-Line Brown-eye  is a beautiful moth, however subtle!

I really cannot get enough of moths!
